Help with rent and moving in.

Help with rent or board may be available through Work and Income (MSD), including for some people who aren’t on a benefit. Eligibility and amounts depend on your circumstances and are confirmed by Work and Income.

Accommodation Supplement (Work and Income, opens in a new tab)
A weekly payment that may help with your ongoing rent or board.
Rent in advance (Work and Income, opens in a new tab)
An Accommodation Costs in Advance Grant may help with rent you need to pay before moving in. You must repay this to MSD.
Moving Costs Grant (Work and Income, opens in a new tab)
Help may be available for moving your belongings, such as van hire or petrol. You must repay this to MSD.
